background: RNFT1 (Ring Finger Protein, Transmembrane 1) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with RNFT1 include Sertoli Cell-Only Syndrome. An important paralog of this gene is RNFT2. Subcellular Location: Membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. Tissue Specificity: Expressed at highest levels in testis, lower levels in heart, liver, lung, and kidney. Not detected in brain, ovary, and uterus. Down-regulated in testis from patients with maturation arrest (MA) or Sertoli cell-only syndrome (SCOS).
